๐ Background Link to heading
T2: Judgement Day was available on many consoles in a few flavours. The SMS/GG/NES game was generally well-received, and the unrelated Arcade game port is brutally tough but fun. Terminator 2’s worst incarnation by far however was on SNES and Genesis. It was developed by BITS for both platforms and published by LJN. (Flying Edge published the game on Genesis, but LJN and Flying Edge were both divisions of Acclaim Entertainment). Shockingly, this is the same dev team that brought us such hits as Dream TV and Wolverine: Adamantium Rage on SNES, and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein on SNES and Genesis, so you know we’re getting quality with this one.
This game is notable for having incredibly stiff controls and terrible partner AI that you need to protect in certain levels. Although it actually follows the structure of the film fairly well, that’s about the only redeeming feature of the game. AVGN called the driving the worst he’d ever used since Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and Dick Tracy on NES1.
