Wolverine: Adamantium Rage is yet another dumpster fire from Bits Studio, the same studio behind such hits as Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and Terminator 2 on SNES.

• Left/Right: Run

• Up: Dive

• Down: Crouch

• B: Jump

• A: Punch

• Y: Kick

• X: Claw

• L: Backhand

• R: Claw 2

Wolverine has multiple special moves that players will discover for themselves. However, for my own notes, here are the special moves:

• Dive - Press Up. Can be pulled off in midair
• Claw Swipe - Press X. The running swipe will be your primary move during the game
• Super Jump - Duck, press B. -> Can be followed with a Super Jump Claw by pressing R
• Dig - Hold Down, press X. Useful for getting through certain floors
• Claw Popper - Hold Down, press X and A simultaneously. Most useful against Deathstrike

In each level, you must defeat enough enemies to progress. Once you’ve completed that objective, you can proceed out of the stage. Some stages may require additional objectives to be completed before you can progress. In the Weapon X Lab, you’ll have to destroy the generator powering the lasers at the exit before you can leave.

The bosses are basically all damage sponges. The first and second boss simply require that you blitz down their health with claw swipes before they can kill you. Sure hope you entered those rooms with full health!

Lady Deathstrike is a little more interesting - you have to use the claw popper against her, by shocking yourself and by extension her using an exposed plasma coil.

• The SNESDrunk video on this game sums it up well: There’s a real mismatch between your range of motion and the enemies placed in the levels.
